Property Description

This is our new three-bedroom bungalow villa in a holiday development on the edge of the village of Fitou, about 10 miles back from the coast and 100 metres above sea level. Our large terrace has a splendid view of the sea lakes and the Mediterranean beyond. You can see full details and photos at www.spangle.org.

The living area has two patio doors which make the room very light, and which lead onto the large L-shaped terrace. There are shutters on all the windows. The floors are tiled throughout the villa and on the terrace. The terrace is equipped with a large patio table and chairs, four reclining chairs and an electric barbecue (all these can be stored in the garage). Part of the terrace is covered, giving shade from the sun. There is a small enclosed garden down a few steps from the terrace.

We supply clean bed linen and towels weekly. The villa will be ready for you when you arrive, with the beds made. Our French-speaking British agents (based in the village of Fitou) will assist with any needs you may have during your stay. They will leave you a phone number for emergencies and agree arrangements for your departure.

Local Area Information

Port Leucate and Fitou are about 10 miles apart, half way between the Languedoc towns of Perpignan and Narbonne; Port Leucate is between the large sea lake and the Mediterranean beaches. All the beaches have EEC Blue Flag accreditation. The area is a major windsurfing centre and offers a wide range of water sports. The town is most suitable for couples and families, but may not provide the right entertainment for young singles. As the area is the southernmost corner of France and enjoys the one of its mildest climates, the villa is ideal for an out of season visit. We often have visitors during the autumn and spring.

Port Leucate and Fitou are in the heart of the Fitou and Corbières wine producing regions and offer excellent opportunities for walks, cycle rides or drives through breathtaking scenery of vineyards, mountains, pretty villages and ruined chateaux.
