Property Description
Glendavan House, set in the heart of Royal Deeside, was built as a shooting Lodge in 1886, and is now well appointed as a family home offering a very high standard of accommodation. Glendavan stands in its own extensive grounds, seven acres of woodland overlooking Loch Davan in the heart of the Silver Jubilee Reserve. For the hill walker, the hills of Deeside start at the front door; for the skier, the house is conveniently placed for both The Lecht and Glenshee ski slopes; golf, hunting, shooting, fishing, pony-trekking, gliding and many more outdoor and water sports activities are all available locally and can be arranged. For those seeking a less energetic holiday, we invite you to take a seat in front of the open fire, or in the conservatory, help yourself to a book, jigsaw or board game and relax! Accommodation comprises of four double bedrooms - two with en-suite bathrooms and one four-poster - and four singles. There are two additional bathrooms and a shower room. Upstairs there is a childrens playroom equipped with books, toys, and a television. Downstairs are two sitting rooms - one with a wood burning stove and music centre; the other with television and video, leading into the conservatory. The dining room comfortably seats 10. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped with an Aga and electric cooker. Rent is inclusive of domestic help six hours weekly, all linen and towels, and a generous amount of oil and electricity.
