Alajero is a small, typical rural village of La Gomera.
Located on the southern slopes of the island, only 9km from the sea at Playa de Santiago. The village enjoys a pleasant sunny climate but is 800 metres above sea level making it a little cooler than the coast with chilly evenings in winter. There are a couple of bars and restaurants in Alajero, which has a population of about 300, and this is a very quiet situation and would suit those looking for a peaceful rural holiday.
