The house extends over an archway, the entrance to an enclosed stable yard, which is a lovely sheltered suntrap with great character. The house sleeps six, with three bedrooms. There are two twin rooms, one of which interconnects with the double bedroom.

The sitting room has a wood-burning stove, and logs are for sale. The kitchen/dining areas are combined, and complimentary home baked bread and honey from the estate will welcome you on arrival. Outside there is garden furniture so you can enjoy ‘al fresco’ breakfasts or just relax with a book or magazine, of which there is a variety available in the house. Guests are also welcome to walk through the 200 acres of private farmland and woods.

Cappagh is situated in rural West Waterford, in South East Ireland. It is in the midst of beautiful countryside; nestled between the Knockmealdown and Comeragh Mountains to the North and the sea to the South, with pretty villages, a wonderful coastline and many sandy beaches to chose from.

There are 2 holiday cottages set on the Chavasse family estate of 200 acres which provide a wonderful self-catering base for either relaxing in the peaceful surroundings or exploring this unique and unspoilt part of Ireland. It is ideally located for golf enthusiasts (three 18 hole and one 9 hole course nearby), those interested in fishing (the River Blackwater is famous for salmon fishing and coarse fishing is available locally ... sea angling can be arranged in Dungarvan, just 9km away), walking (mountains, coastal/cliff walks and forestry/woodlands), equestrian activities (several horse riding and trekking centres nearby) and watersports (the sea is only 9km away), to name but a few pastimes!!

The surrounding area and local towns of Lismore, Dungarvan, Ardmore and Youghal provide a wide variety of interesting monuments, castles and gardens to visit ... and for those interested in visiting Blarney, the Rock of Cashel, Killarney or the old city of Kilkenny, all are within 2 hours drive. Waterford City is only 40 minutes and Cork City 1 hour by car.

The local town of Dungarvan is on the coast and only 9km from Cappagh. It is a buzzing little town offering shops and amenities including a helpful tourist information centre, an arts centre, sailng club, shopping centre, cinema, farmers market and some great pubs, cafes and restaurants.
