Local Area Information

The North Clare village of Doolin attracts a great numbers of visitors each year due to the area's wealth of both geological and historical wonders. The Burren region which is one of the most unique and ancient landscapes in Europe is just a fifteen minute drive and is an excellent base for walkers, cyclists, botanists and indeed for those wishing to experience some more strenuous activities such as caving and abseiling. The vast network of caves of the Burren feature many wonders including the largest free hanging stalectite in Europe is here nearby in Poll na Ionain.
Conveniently located just outside the village and beside a local shop. These large houses are beautifully and are the ideal base to tour the North Clare region with the Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands and the Burren all close by.
Doolin Village is world famous as a centre for traditional Irish music with ‘trad' sessions nightly in the season. The village is also noted for having award winning restaurants, many specialising in locally caught seafood. The village pier is also the base for 2 ferry companies who run regular services around the nearby Cliffs of Moher and out to the Aran Islands, the nearest of which is inside 30 minutes away.
