Situated in a valley of olive groves just outside the beautiful and historic town of Montefrio you will find la Casa de Colores a bed and breakfast with that little bit extra La Casa del Colores With four rooms that have been tastefully decorated and furnished to a very high standard you will not be disappointed Downstairs in the loungedining area you can relax on our comfortable tub chairs getting away from the sun in the summer or enjoying the warmth of our log burning fire in the winter Through the patio doors you will find a large terraced area with spectacular views from every angle In the summer you will enjoy nothing better than a dip in our large swimming pool or enjoy a BBQ whilst relaxing on one of our sunbeds To stay in la casa de colores is to get away from the endless hotels of the Costa and to enjoy the real Spain to get away from the cheesy waiters and overbearing pr men and enjoy a truly relaxed pace The surrounding area has thousands upon thousands of acres of land just waiting to be discovered so whether your means of getting about be car bike or foot you will not be disappointed All in all La Casa de Ccolores is about seeing real Spain enjoying a relaxed atmosphere comfortable surroundings enjoying a good meal and most of all getting away from it all The Ruby room With its own private balcony onto the castle of Montefrio the Ruby room is our superior room Beautifully decorated in deep reds and gold this room boasts a king sized bed and Jacuzzi bath and is excellent for those who want that little bit extra The ruby room is priced at 55 per night and includes a continental breakfast The Sapphire Room Furnished to a very high standard this double room has wonderful views through the vast olive valleys Decorated in various hues of blue this double room with its uniquely styled ensuite is an exellent size for two people The sapphire room is priced at 45 per night and includes a continental breakfast The Emerald room As the largest of our four rooms the Emerald room can easily be used as a family room Tastefully decorated in green and cream with twin beds and an ensuite shower room this room also boasts beautiful views onto the castle of Montefrio The Emerald room is priced at 45 per night and includes a continental breakfast For those who wish to use this room as a family room prices are as follows for extra beds 03 years free 310 years 750 1015years 10 The Amber room Although modestly sized this room is just right for the single person With fully fitted ensuite and plenty of space for clothes it is all you need if you are an overnight traveller or you wish to stay that bit longer The Amber room is priced at 35 per night and includes a continental breakfast Facilities If there are two things that can help make your holiday its the food and facilities Listed below is few of our facilities In the loungedining area we have a good selection of games and books with a small selection of books on the Montefrio area We also have a large screen TV excellent for those who just cant miss the essential weekends football the above can be enjoyed on our comfortable tub chairs Out side we have a large swimming pool with roman steps a small childrens area and a large terraced area with plenty of sunbeds to relax on We also have a bar service with a good selection of beers wines and spirits Food As well as an exellent continental breakfastincluded in price we also provide a good range of other breakfasts from a simple sausage sandwich to a full English or maybe even smoked salmon and scrambled eggs In the afternoon we provide a range of snacks salads toasties nachos etc In the evenings we provide a menu catered to your individual tastes taking on board your likes and dislikes we can put together a menu combining traditional fayre to food with a more international feel Finding us La casa de colores is situated on the road from Montefrio to Alcala la RealA335 First you need to get to Montefrio If you are coming from the Granada direction take the Granada Cordoba roadA432 At the town of Puerto lope there is a turn of for montefrio If you are coming from the Malaga direction take the turn of for HuetorTajar as you enter this town you will see signs for Montefrio follow these through the town and at the other end you will again see the signs just keep following them simple as that As you enter the town from any direction you will see the signs for Alcala la Real Once you get through the town if you are at the Campsa garage you are nearly there you will notice small signs on the side of the road denoting the Kms of the road Just after the Km 18 sign you will see a sign for La Casa de Colores


Local Area Information

Montefrio is a small town located in the province of Granada the population consists of around 8000 people with the local economy centring mostly on the production of excellent quality olive oil In Montefrio tourism is still on the increase but for those looking to visit a bit of real spain with a very friendly local community this Andalucian town has more to offer then you may think Listed below is a small selection of places of interest ChurchCastle la Villa The main feature in Montefrios skyline as impressive by day as it is by night once used as a stronghold between the Christians and the moors The churchcastle is open for visitors Inglesia de la Encernacion Designed and built in the 18th century to replace la villa as the main church this is the only round church in spain and is open to the public El Convento Sitting at the opposite end of the town from la villa lies San Antonio de Padua el Convento Although not open to the public it is well worth a visit for its beautiful views Outside the town itself there are many wonderful walks and places of interest We have listed just a few below The archaeological site las penas de los gitanos is a fascinating area with many beautiful walks and things to see The road of the roman mills The remains of a roman hydraulic system As you can see even though this is only a small town it has a lot of history with many things to see and do On top of this being only 40 minutes from Granada you are not to far away from civilisation but far enough away to forget about it for a while
