Cherry Tree Cottage sleeps 6 The ground floor consists of an open plan lounge kitchen dining area designed so the whole family can join in with the holiday It is a bright sunny room with 3 large picture windows exposed oak beams it also has a log burner in the lounge area This is a comfortable well equipped cottage for 6 people The 1st floor has a shower room and 3 bedrooms 2 double rooms and a room with bunk beds all have granite walls and exposed oak beams There is a separate patio at the side of the gte with garden furniture sun canopy and a BBQ this leads to the shared pool and patio area La Basse Rouerie is a traditional Breton farmhouse and Longere that dates back 600 years in parts It has two and a half acres of gardens with open views over undulating farmland There is a private patio area for all 4 gites which includes garden furniture sun canopy and a BBQ Plus there is a communal patio area with a brick BBQ the ideal place for parents to get to know one another while the kids play We have had many an enjoyable evening with a BBQ and a few drinks The above ground pool is made of teak to fit in with the surroundings in the orchard It is heated and maintained at around 3032 degrees The pool is open from May September The gardens are the ideal place to either relax by the pool have a picnic under a tree or just sit and read a good book while sipping a glass a wine There is a badminton net swings boules pit swing ball football net and basketball net in the gardens along with numerous games In the covered veranda area there is table soccer and a darts board The gardens are large and safe enough for children to play Just down the lane there is an 18 km Patrimoine walk through lovely countryside

The area Although we are in a quiet location we are only 5 mins away from the village centre with its bartabacrestaurantshop And only 10 mins from Louvigne du Desert with its shops supermarkets and restaurants La Basse Rouerie is located in a small village called Mell which is situated on the Brittany Normandy borders Here you can spend days on the magnificent beaches known as the Emerald coast visit walled towns or just walk through the lovely countryside something for everyone Mell is about an hours drive from the port of St Malo this is also an excellent place to visit with a walled town and miles of sandy beaches Just along the coast there is Cancale the oyster capital of France with excellent seafood restaurants and Dinard with its palm tree lined coastline Also within an hours drive you have the large towns of Rennes Dinan and Domfront all worth a visit Mont Saint Michel the 2nd most visited place in France after the Eiffel Tower is only half an hour drive Half an hour will also take you to the walled town of Fougeres with its chteau St Hilaire a lively market town and Mortain known for its water falls Just under a two hour drive will take you to the DDay Beaches and the Bayeaux Tapestry Mell is also only 10 mins away from the American War Cemetery at St James Nearby are water and floral parks walking and cycle paths trout fishing horse riding canoeing and kayaking and numerous places of interest to visit something for everyone
