In the French Pyrenees, just outside of the village of Barèges, you can find our newly renovated chalet: "Petit Barzun". The chalet has a unique location on the south side of the mountain, which means that you have sun on the large terrace in front of the house during most of the day. The chalet is off the highest quality in Barèges, we obtained 3 stars and 3 clefs from Clévacances and are working towards 4 stars.
The house has a splendid view on the valley from its position at 1200 meter above sea level. In the summer, there are lots of summer sports and mountain activities to do, in the winter the house is located a few minutes from the largest ski resort in the French Pyrenees. Our chalet is available for rent and will house 2 to 9 persons in 4 bedrooms. You can fly to nearby Pau and Lourdes with the low fare airline Ryanair!

About SkiingOur house is an excellent starting point for you ski holiday. The ski resort, Le Domain du Tourmalet, is the largest resort in the French Pyrenees. At 150 meters you will find free ski bus, which will bring you to the ski resort at 5 to 10 minutes from the chalet (3 km). In this site we give you a full description of the resort, from the starting point of Barèges. The ski resort is between 1400 and 2500 meters high, and has 100 km slopes with 43 chairlifts. Recently modernized, the area has more than 170 snow makers, and many detachable 6 person chairlifts which means that even at high season you do not have to wait at the central chairlifts.About FishingRight below the house is a little river where you can go fishing for trout. About 20 kms from the house the river is large and has a wide bed, the ideal location where many trout fishing competitions take place!About Airport InformationClosest airport is Lourdes, which is at 40 minutes driving. You can fly to Lourdes from Stansted and Brussels with Ryanair. Pau Pyrenees airport is at 80 minutes driving, you can get there with Ryanair and other airlines.About ParksOur farm is located in the National Park of the Pyrenees, the ideal starting point for walks, high mountain sports, and beautiful nature. You can walk to the protected area of the park for the most beautiful scenery of the Pyrenees.About WalkingIf high mountain hiking is too adventurous, than closer by, around the house, and across at the Lienz forest, you can have fantastic walks through the area. Visit the old villages of Betpouey and Viella, and walk back through Sers to the house for marvelous views on the area!About Weather/Climate/TemperatureThe weather is typical high mountain weather. There is lots of sun, and as soon as the sun is shining it is warm and comfortable. Being at 1200m above sea level, you can always find a cool place in the shade. At night the temperature cools down quickly, ideal for a good night sleep.
