St Androny, 5 miles north of the old Citadel Port of Blaye on the Gironde is ideally placed for Wine Sampling, Photography, Walking, Cycling , exploring the Bordeaux Region, Star Gazing or just being LAZY! Your Gîte is a separate part of the owners large house, set in a 4000m2 grassed garden with trees, among vines of the Côtes de Blaye. Comprising lounge/dining room with TV and telephone (payable), fully equipped kitchen, mezzanine twin bedroom with lounge area, shower/wc. Linen, electric blankets and towels and bikes are included. Daily rate available for off peak times. Sorry no children or pets.

You will find a guide to the local wines published by the Maison du Vin des Premières Côtes de Blaye with your welcome pack and Duncan will be happy to point you in any directions that you wish to explore.

Because you are in the Vignoble de Bordeaux, you have 57 appellations to choose from! The options for enjoying wine are boundless. From Blaye to St Émilion – from Médoc to Sauternes – from Entre-Deux-Mers to Pomerol. Red – Dry White – Sweet White - Bordeaux Clairet - Crémant de Bordeaux and Rosé and if that were not enough you are not far from Cognac or the producers of Pineau de Charente. Could anywhere be better placed to please your pallet?
If you don’t want to visit a Châteaux then good selections of wine can be found at the Maison du Vin, E Leclerc and Leader Price.

The Maison du Vin in Blaye hold a free tasting in a specially equipped room every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4:45pm to 5:45pm in July and August. You need to reserve a place by 1:00pm on the day of the tasting.
