Old Miller Trout Farm B&B Canada
Breakfast Nook
Bed and Breakfast in Nova Scotia, Canada
Property Description
Experience the Tranquillity! Come as Guests, leave as Friends!
We are a Four Star Canada Select property nestled in a secluded valley at the end of Doyle's Road, (but only 2 km from the Cabot Trail). Our BnB is somewhat unique in that the guest rooms are actually located in a building separated across a driveway from the main house. The bedrooms, (one with Queen sized bed, the other with Twin Beds), are upstairs and, in the same building, there is a common room downstairs that is excellent for relaxing, reading or watching Satellite T.V., (Star Choice). Telephone and modem connections are available in all rooms.
Breakfast, including trout if desired, is served in the main house, in the sunroom, which you can also see in the photos below. Our breakfasts are full--my wife prides herself on guests not leaving hungry! In fact, as far as the trout breakfast is concerned, one can even catch it oneself. As a bonus, in season, the hummingbirds will join you for their meal at one of the feeders right outside the windows and, most mornings, the Bald Eagle comes to check out the menu!
Local Area InformationThe Margaree River is, of course, world famous as a Salmon River, (although the trout fishing is excellent as well). Due to its central location on the island, Margaree makes an great base for very scenic 'day tripping' to all Island amenities and attractions, including the Margaree Salmon Museum, ("a jewel"), the Fab Four Golf Courses, Alexander Bell Museum, Highland Village, Fortress Louisburg and, of course, the Cabot Trail itself!
However, if one wishes, there is a lot to do right in the Margarees: dances, Ceilidhs, (the "Three Fiddles Ceilidh at the Barn is always a 'must do'), canoeing the river, horse back riding up at N.E. Margaree, hiking the area trails, fly-fishing or learning to, whale watching! Or just sightsee or lie on one of the four local ocean beaches. You can check some of these out at http://www.margareens.com/ (And we still haven't got around the Trail yet or journeyed to the Bell Museum, Highland Village or the Fortress at Louisburg!)
