Castlerea's location is very central for touring County Roscommon and the West, Northwest and Midland regions.
Castlerea town is steeped in history and heritage.
It is the birthplace of many famous people including Dr.Douglas Hyde the first president of Ireland and founder of the Gaelic League, Sir William Wilde father of Oscar Wilde and present day well known writer and journalist John Waters.
Historical places of interest all within 15 minutes to an half hours drive:- Clonalis House, Castlerea ancestral home of the O'Connors of Connaught.
