Hollybush Barn is a spacious and interesting barn conversion sleeping eight plus three on sofa beds and plenty of space for babies in cots. Set in beautiful undulating Suffolk countryside, the Barn is ideally located to explore both the Suffolk Heritage Coast with its popular seaside town of Southwold and the quieter villages of Walberswick and Dunwich, the Norfolk Broads and the variety of historical towns of villages such as Framlingham, Norwich, Bungay, and Beccles to name but a few.
Entry to the barn is via a spacious hall with plenty of hanging space for coats and storage for boots and shoes, prams and pushchairs. This leads into the open plan dining area with table and chairs for eight to ten people and the large sitting area with open fire. This area has oak floors and underfloor heating. A large L-shaped kitchen kitchen is adjacent to the living area and has French doors opening on to the south facing paved terrace. A breakfast area leads to the the utility area with washing machine, tumble dryer and plenty of storage space. Also opening off the hall is a downstairs bathroom with WC, hand basin and bath with shower over.
The ground floor also accommodates the master bedroom with four poster bed and en suite bathroom with adjoining sitting area, which would be ideal for grandparents. French doors from this bedroom open out on to a paved and walled garden. This bedroom also has sitting area which is separated from the open plan living area by the main inglenook fire place in the central part of the barn.
The oak staircase to the first floor leads also off the hall and up to the heavily timbered and vaulted landing area. The landing leads to a half stairs to the family bathroom with WC, a hand basin and bath with shower over, and two spacious bedrooms, a double and a twin. (A z-bed is also available in the twin room)
The landing area overlooks the spectacular grand void and gallery area from where one can see the incredible workmanship which many years ago formed the construction of this barn. The gallery area has a double bed in it, making an open plan fifth bedroom. This area also has an open fire. The fourth bedroom also leads off this landing and has a double bed in it.
All the upstairs bedrooms have sloping, heavily beamed ceilings and Velux windows.
Outside the landscaping of the garden is still under construction except for the paved area next to the kitchen which has been completed and furnished with table and chairs for the summer. The remainder of the garden is down to grass, part of which is turfed and other areas are seeded.
