Local Area InformationPiha Beach, 40 minutes west of Auckland City, is one of New Zealand's most famous surf beaches. It is a popular escape for people looking for fun and adventure. Piha, located in the great Waitakere Ranges, has many quite stunning bush walks and is 10 minutes, by car, from Karekare Beach where The Piano was filmed. Piha is quite stunning.
