Location
Clustered on the southern most tip of the Caribbean island of Barbados, Inchcape resides on Ananias Point. Facing into the gentle breezes of the trades, Inchcape overlooks one of the islands most beautiful unspoiled white sand beaches, where foamy rollers pound against the coral rocks. Inchcape is surrounded by brilliant clear blue water. Visibility is undisturbed at up to fifty feet. Swimming and snorkeling are superb. Surfing is exceptional in the shorebreak only steps away from the house. Most noteworthy is it’s location as one of the best wave windsurfing spots on earth. Life is casual and unhurried in the true Barbadian tradition.
Villas
Six spacious individual houses in the compound, all with colourful gardens of tropical flowers and views of the sea, are tastefully furnished and completely equipped for your comfort. Each house has it’s own style, character and quality. The buildings are named to match their special features. “Seaside� was at one time the seaside resort of a plantation owner. It was built in 1920 from the island’s natural stone, the coral stone, and beautifully restored in 1993, perfectly preserving it’s colonial style. The “Seaside Cottages� are very special accomodations, providing lifestyle and living it at it’s best. It does consist of three very upmarket 1-bedrom apartments with a number of luxury features, stretching over 2 floors and with beautiful views of the ocean. The “Seaside Cottages� also function as a two bedroom or three bedroom house depending on the requirement one might have and can be ideal for bigger groups or families. So is the “Gatehouse�, once developed from the former stables and today a wonderfully restored, very Caribbean looking house, which can function as three individual apartments as well as two bedroom or three bedroom house. Especially the “Tower� unit is in a class of it’s own. “Sunrise� is in a beautiful location right on the water’s edge and so is “Sunset� to it’s west. House “Courtyard�, which is also part of an old plantation house completes the variety of accomodations at Inchcape.
Features
Our maid service is absolutely outstanding. Each house is taken care of by a courteous and pleasant maid. She keeps the house impeccably clean, washes and irons your sheets and towels and prepares Bajan meals you will never forget. On the day of your arrival, your maid has been shopping in order to greet you with a lovely dinner and to provide food for your breakfast the first morning after your arrival. A full time caretaker is at your service, as well as a gardener to tend to the gardens and outside areas. Each house has it’s own telephone, colour television and stereo system. We offer a brochure of current information, on where to shop and eat, sites of interest and proper behaviour in typical Barbadian situations. This information makes you a Barbados insider from day one. We gladly assist you with your rental car reservations, set up of your temporary internet connection, arrangements for activities planned while staying in Barbados or for excursions to neighbouring islands.
Pool
Our neighbours, Silver Sands Hotel, offer the use of their facilities to non hotel guests for a small fee of $ 5 Bds./$ 2,50 US. A swipe card has to be bought at the reception and drinks and food within the hotel can be paid by using this card. Overpaid amounts will be credited on return of the card to the reception desk. Amongst their amenities are a pool, children's pool and hottubs. Their tennis courts can be booked for $ Bds. 10/$ US 5 p. hour.
Transportation
If not requested differently we will make arrangements for you to be met at the airport by a taxi for transportation to Inchcape and back to the airport at the end of your stay. The cost is approximately $ US 10,-- with additional charges for sports equipment ($ US 5,-- per windsurfboard, surfboard, bicycle, golf equipment or other big bags). Please provide us with your airline, flight no. and arrival time. Don’t worry if your flight is delayed, it’s monitored automatically from our side.
Departure times
A mid-day departure time applies. Where circumstances permit, allowances are made for late departures.
Reservations procedure and cancellation policy
A non refundable 50% deposit is required to confirm your reservation at Inchcape. We recommend the purchase of cancellation insurance to cover the cost of cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances. Customers might be asked to transfer the balance within 60 days prior to your arrival for very special periods like Christmas/New Year. Usually the balance payment will be collected in US Travelllers Cheques or US or Bds. cash upon your arrival. A security deposit can be imposed for a reservation and will be refunded at the end of your stay. If this should apply for a certain booking our customers would be informed before we confirm the reservation.
