Our house nestles at 450 m asl surrounded by chestnuts and thorntrees in a village near Bagni di Lucca about 5 kms which is a nice tourist resort where you will find general stores shops and sport centers public swimming pool tennis courts etc Bagni di Lucca is a beautiful spa as well known during the 18th and 19th centuries as a beloved holiday or residence destination of personalities and artists like Byron Shelley Puccini Metternich and Radestsky Traces of this glorious past are its monuments the English Church the Catene bridge the spa the villas etc Enjoy beautiful walks or bicycle and horse rides on the surrounding hills which are full of churches and Roman parishes S Pietro in Corsena Pieve and San Cassiano di Controne Montefegatesi Casabasciana and Vicopancellorum Nearby Borgo a Mozzano and the Maddalena bridge better known as the Devils bridge Barga with its typical historical centre Coreglia Antelminelli and its Museum of Plaster Figures and Emigration Lucca about 27 kms Pisa about 55kms and the close Tyrrhenian coast or Versilia about 40kms offer further cultural artistic and enogastronomical entertainments
