Casa Luna is located 30 minutes west of the city of Tucson, in a beautiful desert area near the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum and the Saguaro National Park West. It is a great area for birding, hiking and stargazing. Restaurants and shopping are only 30 minutes away in downtown Tucson.
This two-bedroom adobe house with a one bedroom attached casita lis situated on 5 acres of pristine desert adjoining a 160 aces wildlife preserve. The passive-solar custom adobe home is the perfect destination for those wanting stunning desert views, clear night skies and spectacular sunsets.
The house features brick floors, wood ceilings and Mexican tile through out. The brightly painted doors and cabinets, Mexican decorations are reminiscent of features found in Mexican haciendas. Each living area has ceiling fans and electric heating as well as evaporative cooling. The living room features an adobe fireplace, a foldout couch, a TV with VCR and open access to the dining area and the large kitchen. Each bedroom has a queen bed, private bath and private patio. There is a private telephone line with an answering machine and a BBQ. One bedroom has an adobe fireplace.
Casita Nopalito is a one-bedroom passive-solar adobe casita attached to Casa Luna. The casita features one bedroom, a full bath, a living/dining/kitchen area, and a private patio. Each room has a ceiling fan, electric heat and evaporative cooling. The house has brick floors, wood ceilings and Mexican tile through out. The brightly colored kitchen includes a two-burner stove, full size refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee maker. The living room is complete with a fold down futon, cable TV with VCR and a telephone. There is one queen bed in the bedroom and a full bath.
Between Casa Luna and Casita Nopalito is a two-car carport and a patio. You can rent Casa Luna (two bedrooms) alone or with Casita Nopalito (one bedroom). Shared areas include an outdoor hot tub, a carport and a laundry room. No walls are shared by the living spaces of the houses so each unit has a great deal of privacy.
