US tops list of preferred hotel experiences by Brits
Kirsten NaltyLeading UK online travel booking agency, ebookers.com, conducted a survey of global hotel chains and their popularity with British travellers.
According to the figures, US hotels are the nation’s favourite choice leading by 17 per cent. On the other hand, Spain, France and Greece all earned top marks as the nation’s worst hotel experiences abroad. The researcher polled 2,000 UK travellers to discover that Britons place a high stake on cleanliness. A whopping 48 per cent of British travellers said that cleanliness was the biggest factor for a positive hotel experience.
The study also revealed that bed comfort, helpful and friendly staff and location were large factors for holidaymakers when rating a hotel experience. Britons also revealed that they book wisely with 29 per cent claiming they use hotel reviews when making a decision.
Fiona Duncan, co-founder of HotelGuru.com said ‘’It’s no surprise that the nation loves a great hotel, as it’s often one of the few times we afford ourselves a break away to enjoy being waited on hand and foot. The ebookers research highlights the key criteria that help make a quality hotel, such as cleanliness, location, recommendations and value for money.’’
“My top tip for travellers looking for the best possible hotels is to take the time to become a savvy booker. Do lots of research online before you make your decision, whether it’s reading travel articles or reviews from previous customers. Also, don’t forget to share your experiences with others to help them make the most of their stay.’’
