Green Day star kicked off flight over low trousers

Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong has told his followers on Twitter that he was asked to leave a plane he was aboard in California for failing to pull up his trousers.

Aged 39, the singer tweeted: “Just got kicked off a Southwest flight because my pants sagged too low!”. Immediately after, Southwest Airlines made an apology to Billie Joe Armstrong. Upon being made aware of what occurred, we apologised for the experience that the customer had, explained Brad Hawkins, a Southwest spokesman.

Thankfully Mr Armstrong elected to take the flight after and we followed this action up with the involved employees handing us more details, continued Hawkins. In our latest conversations, it was added, we understand from the customer that the situation was then resolved to his full satisfaction.

The plane was travelling from Oakland to the LA suburb of Burbank. Cindy Qiu, a local television producer, was aboard the flight and used her company’s website to describe what happened.

Qui says that she heard Billie Joe Armstrong asking the flight attendant, who demanded that he pull his trousers up, “Don’t you have better things to do than worry about that?” She claims that the star then tried to get to his seat but the attendent requested that he leave the plane.

In 2009, Green Day released studio album number eight, entitled 21st Century Breakdown. In May this year, Billie Joe Armstrong revealed how the band has started work on a follow-up. We’re having the time of our lives and playing the best music, the pint-sized singer revealed.
