Fir Lodges are situated in peaceful surroundings on the edge of Blackmuir Woods in the heart of the Highlands of Scotland. It is only 20 miles north east of Inverness, near Strathpeffer and 5 miles east of Dingwall. Fir Lodge is the perfect place to experience a Scottish holiday in unspoilt countryside, yet close enough to benefit from organised tourist activities nearby. Open all year round, the lodges are an ideal place to take a relaxing Scottish holiday or as a base for adventure and touring in all directions.

There are 2 log cabins on site, all positioned carefully to maximise the woodland setting and the need for privacy. Fir Lodges are well equipped and immaculately kept.The fully centrally heated luxury cabins are constructed of solid logs to a very high standard. They have been completely renovated and modernised to provide spacious, warm accommodation for a holiday or short break anytime of the year as they have full central heating. All bed linen, towels and electricity/ fuel is included in the price.

WILDLIFE Watch seals in the Cromarty Firth dolphins in the Moray Firth with boat trips available from Inverness and Cromarty Numerous glens support herds of red deer or have a day in the Cairngorms with its herd of reindeer Bird life is also plentiful from golden eagles to crested tits Red squirrels come into our grounds to feed and even have their own tree to rest in afterwards GOLF Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club just one mile away Designed by the grand old man of golf Tom Morris of St Andrews in 1888 and described by Peter Allis as a jewel in the Highlands of Scotland This course boast panoramic views down the Peffery Valley to the Black Isle and westwards to the Fannich hills More celebrated courses nearby at Dornoch and Nairn offer championship golfing experiences FISHING Fishing of all types is readily available from river to sea and freshwater lochs and can be arranged for you on a daily or weekly basis Salmon and Sea Trout Fishing on the River Conon Dingwall Angling Club has two miles of the lower river which can be good for sea trout on the tidal water the best of the fishing being from June to September Above this stretch are the best beats of Upper Middle and Lower Brahan and further upstream the Fairburn and Coul beats with Torr Achilty Dam and Loch Achonachie below Permits are available Sports and Model Shop Tulloch Street Dingwall WALKING Nearby is Ben Wyvis a solitary Munro which overshadows the village The Forestry Commission have also provided many interesting and varied walks with one right on our door step here in Blackmuir Wood The Strathpeffer to Garve walk is a spectacular flat level walk through pine forest taking you along Loch Garve to Garve The trail goes along the side of Loch Kinellen then through forestry commsion land Walkers often see plenty of wildlife on land and magnificent birds in the air Highly recommneded is a short detour to take in Rogie Falls CYCLING The countryside around Strathpeffer is perfect for mountain biking and is used for mountain bike series races and the famous winter Strathpuffer 24 cycle event There are tough trails with stream crossings hard climbs and steep descents for the experienced mountain biker There are also numerous easier tracks for families and less experienced riders There are magnificent views of lochs rivers Caledonian pine forest and mountains for every cyclist WHISKY There are many distilleries to visit within easy reach of Fir Lodges and together with a castle or two you can enjoy the breath taking scenery which the Highlands have to offer INVERNESS Whilst talking of the Highlands its capital Inverness is only 20 miles away offering excellent retail and leisure facilities The recently opened Eastgate Shopping Precinct is well worth a visit From Inverness you can drive down Loch Ness until you reach Fort William and Ben Nevis
