Bay Cottage is a lovely Welsh stone cottage sleeping four, set in a quiet, secluded spot but within walking distance of the beach at Little Haven. Bay is one of ten cottages converted from traditional stone-built barns, together known as Woodlands Farm. Little Haven is a small, picturesque village, and the beach is reached in about 10 minutes via a pleasant woodland path. The woodland walk may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. The village itself is full of interest, with a cafe, a local produce and craft shop, a boat trip and hire shop, and three welcoming public houses. At high tide, Little Haven Beach is a sheltered and relatively shallow spot for paddling or launching a Kayak or SUP to explore the small bay. When the tide is out, plenty of rock pools and a beautiful walk are revealed across the sands to Broad Haven. The coast path towards Deer Park leads to views of many isolated coves and inlets, with plenty of wildlife to spot, including baby seals in the pupping season. Broad Haven is a larger village with a small supermarket and post office, a well-stocked surf shop, several cafes, and a good choice of eateries. A meandering woodland path, mostly gentle in gradient with a few steeper parts, leads down to the village and beach. The village is full of interest, with a pottery craft shop, galleries with local artists’ work, a tea room overlooking the beach, and a number of other eating places. An old slipway leads onto the beach, where children can investigate rock pools and adults laze in the sun. It is also used by boating enthusiasts who moor their boats above the high water mark. When the tide is out, visitors may walk across the sands to Broad Haven, and for those who wish to go further, the coastal path leads to many isolated coves and inlets. Broad Haven itself is a somewhat larger village with a post office and grocery store. Maple Cottage is a stone-fronted farm storehouse which has been imaginatively rebuilt to form a spacious and comfortable holiday home. It is situated less than 10 minutes’ woodland walk from the sea, above the Pembrokeshire village of Little Haven. Maple Cottage is great for both summer and winter holidays; an ideal base for many activities including walking, water sports, bird watching and sightseeing. Located in an old farmyard converted into a collection of holiday cottages, it has the most secluded position in the corner of the site. The holiday complex is in a quiet, secluded area with no through traffic. Maple cottage has been approved under the Walkers Welcome and Cyclists Welcome schemes. In the village, renowned for its beauty, are three pubs serving excellent food, a café, craft shop, art gallery and the lovely “Lobster and Mor” which sells just that!!!. The village is on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path – miles of exciting walking and superb coastal scenery in both directions. There is a slipway, used by local fishermen and from where boat enthusiasts may launch. The blue flag beaches of Broad Haven and Newgale are close by. Little Haven has its own beach accessible at low tide. Broad Haven is within walking distance along the beach at low tide and has a long stretch of golden sand, water sports, shops, more pubs and places to eat. Within about twenty miles of Maple Cottage are numerous Pembrokeshire attractions such as Folly Farm, Fishguard, Tenby and Saundersfoot, and the pretty village of Narberth – well worth a stop for coffee and cake. ACCOMMODATION Maple Cottage sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms: 1 king size and 1 twin. Most of the accommodation is on the ground floor, so it will suit guests with restricted mobility. UPSTAIRS  Bedroom 1: Crog loft with twin beds, chest of drawers, bedside tables, a cabinet which can be used with shelving or as short hanging space, TV, two tub armchairs and three Velux windows, two of which have views of the sea. DOWNSTAIRS  Bedroom 2: king-size bed, wall mounted Smart TV, wardrobe, dressing table, bedside tables and French doors to the patio  En suite bathroom: power shower, toilet and wash hand basin.  Living room: two 3-seater sofas, 40” Smart TV, coffee table, French doors leading onto the patio. Kitchen: electric hob, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, French-style refectory table which seats 5. The kitchen is well equipped with a range of ovenware and cookware Utility cupboard: washing machine, tumble dryer Family bathroom: bath with shower over, toilet, wash hand basin OUTSIDE  French doors lead from the lounge and main bedroom to the patio area with a large, private, walled garden with a south-westerly aspect. The patio has a variety of pot plants, solar and electric lighting and a metal garden table with four chairs. Two sun lounger chairs and cushions for the others can be found in the storage shed. There is parking for 2 vehicles adjacent to the cottage.
