Originally a corn mill, this wonderful holiday cottage stands amongst two acres of gardens and woodlands. There are bright and airy rooms with living areas arranged on the first floor to make the most of the glorious views. Newlands Valley is the picture-perfect valley where Beatrix Potter wrote many of her tales. The mountain scenery is inspiring and the fell walking here is second to none. For those wishing to cycle, then the testing Newlands Pass is on the doorstep, as well as Whinlatter and Honister for the brave. Walkers can easily access Catbells, Barrow and Causey Pike directly from the cottage. Whinlatter Forest Park is just 4 miles away and has a Go Ape! high-wire course, a zip line adventure and miles of trails and footpaths for a leisurely stroll or an adventurous hike. The nearest pub is 0.5 miles away, serving homemade food and Lakeland ales. The beer garden is the perfect spot to watch the sun set. Keswick is only 4 miles away by car (3 miles on foot) offering a wide selection of pubs, attractions, cafes and shops. The property has a long entrance hallway into the cottage with hanging space for outdoor clothing. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor, a double and a twin, both of which have views of the Newlands Valley and Robinson Fell. There is a separate utility room available outside in the shed, equipped with a washer, dryer, ironing facilities and a BBQ. Upstairs is the open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting room with superb views. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, electric oven and hob and a large freestanding fridge and freezer. The open-plan sitting room is on the first floor to take advantage of the beautiful views from the double aspect windows. The sitting room has a TV with Freesat and DVD and a CD/radio. Here also is an ipod port and Wi-Fi internet. A further double bedroom is on this first floor. The shower room has an electric shower, wash basin and WC and there is also a bathroom, which has a shower over the bath, basin and WC. Outside is a pretty garden to the rear of the property that leads to the private woodlands with a private path through woods giving access to the path to Causey Pike. There is ample parking to the front of the property on a shared driveway.

All the bedrooms are furnished with freestanding wooden furniture, and enjoy fell views of Causey Pike or Catbells. Outside there is a sitting out area to the rear of the cottage which catches the late afternoon and early evening sun and has views of Causey Pike. There is also a small wooded area (please note there is a shallow mill pond in the wood, which is about 10 inches deep). The front garden and driveway are shared with the neighbouring cottage.
This first floor barn conversion is situated on a working farm in the Newlands Valley and is five miles from Keswick, and can sleep four people in two bedrooms.
