The Watch House is a stunning riverside property in the Pembrokeshire village of St Dogmaels, under 5 minutes’ drive from the beach at Poppit Sands. Originally the Customs and Excise Watch House, built around 1850, it has been refurbished and extended to provide a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom holiday home of exceptional quality. The Watch House is a unique house, with character and history, in an exceptional location with superb views – ideal for those who like to be close to water. Decking to the rear of the house provides a space to eat, drink and relax, while enjoying the views of the river. And a garden to the side and rear of the house backs on to the tidal estuary of the River Teifi: you can fish for crabs from the back wall when the tide is in. There is much to do and see in the local area, from the historic market town of Cardigan, to the unspoilt beaches of North Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion. St Dogmaels is a quiet, friendly village, sitting at the end of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, and the house is ideally located for those who want to explore the local area by car, on foot, or on the water. St Dogmaels has a village store, an exceptional fish and chip shop and two village pubs; the nearest one (the Ferry Inn) serves excellent food. Gerallt is a delightful detached character cottage surrounded by lovely walks and located in the wooded valley of Cwmdegwel and just 10 minutes walk away from the famous ruined abbey of St Dogmaels. St Dogmaels features a range of facilities including a wonderful weekly farmers market, character pubs, cafes and galleries. The nearest beach is Poppit Sands. This is just a 10-minute drive away. Poppit Sands amazes with its wide expanse of sandy beach and dunes, making it perfect for families and dog walkers alike. With easy parking and a lovely cafe; Poppit Sands is a great base for exploring the coast path. The market town of Cardigan and its renovated castle is a mile and a half to the north of the cottage and has an abundance of eateries and shops to be enjoyed.
