The views, the friendliness and the peacefulness cannot be faulted. The owner is absolutely lovely and we would not hesitate to recommend this property and hope to return in the not too distant future.
The views from the cottage were fantastic, a lovely quiet area, very friendly people, abundance of wildlife on the doorstep and nice big mugs to have a proper cup of tea.
The area around the property is fantastic - especially for walkers.
Great cottage, perfect for two people. In a beautiful location with a friendly owner.
We know the area having used the cottage twice before. Property lovely. Great views. Quaint and everything needed to hand. Will be back!

The peace and quiet which was exactly what the doctor ordered. Our week at the cottage was perfect, and we are hoping to return in the spring. The scenery is stunning and we went on lots of walks in all directions. I can honestly not think of a single negative thing to say.
Lovely cottage very well set out, with the living room and kitchen upstairs, making the most of the fabulous views. Everything you need is in the cottage and the owner is very friendly and helpful.
The location is excellent. There are stunning walks within 5 minutes of the cottage. I enjoy the calm and friendly nature of the area. I feel very secure and would have no hesitation on going on walks alone. Everyone is friendly. The local shops provide everything you require. We know we will make a return visit as this holiday was just about perfect.
The property was excellent, and was in a very nice part of England. There is a very friendly pub 5 minutes down the road. This was our second visit, and won't be the last hopefully!
The Cottage is ideal for a romantic break, nice and bright in the day with fantastic views and warm and cosy in the evenings. Great location, close enough to the shops if needed, but far enough away for some peace and quiet.
The cottage was a delight, it was in a beautiful area and the idea that it was an upside down property made good use of the scenery. It was very warm and very comfortable...full marks to the owner.

Peace and tranquillity, sheep and rabbits still attempting to eat all the grass in neighbouring fields. The local people who made us so very welcome especially the new Landlord and Landlady at the Strathmore Arms 500yds down the hill. The cottage is a good base for exploring Yorkshire & surrounding areas, waterfalls Low and High Force easy to walk to.
Fabulous views and walks from the door, we love this place.
This was a lovely cosy cottage. Very warm and the view from every window is like a framed photo on a Dales Calendar. There are wonderful walks in every direction.
This gorgeous quirky little cottage is in a beautiful location, like stepping into a corner of paradise. The scenery from every window was panoramic, the cottage was warm and inviting. The owner of the cottage was welcoming, and although the place is set as if in the middle of beyond, the nearby pub is great and the local people that we met were wonderfully warm and inviting. We will most certainly be going back, again and again I suspect!
Lovely location, we explored various villages and towns. It's wonderful to be able to take the dog. The owners met us on arrival and showed us round the cottage - a lovely personal touch. We will come back.

We had wonderful walks on our doorstep and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was beautiful and relaxing. We will be going back.
The isolation of the cottage, with only farm vehicles passing, and the fact that some wonderful walks were right on the doorstep made this an ideal base for exploring the countryside. After a full day outdoors it was great to come back to a lovely warm cottage that provided views across the fields, enhanced by the fact that Meadows Edge was an 'upside-down' property.
The barn was lovely and warm when we arrived on a cold snowy evening. The location and views from the barn are magic.
The views were breathtaking. Cottage was warm and cosy.
Lovely quaint cottage in beautiful location with some excellent walking country. Ideal for two people wanting to get away from it all.
A splendid little cottage in an amazing location. I think Teesdale is one of the most beautiful regions in the whole of Britain.
Surrounding area outstanding. Very quiet and peaceful; rabbits, sheep and occasional human!
The cottage was welcoming and had most bits you would need. The views make it that extra bit special.

The cottage was beautiful, the views fantastic. Could not have wanted more. Can't wait to return.
The cottage, which could not have been any better, was very comfortable, clean and homely, with a very warm welcome from the owners.
Perfect "out of the way" cottage ideally presented in its "upside down" layout; relaxing to watch sheep, rabbits and birds whilst we were having breakfast. Also stunning riverside and waterfall walks at the end of the lane. Yet only three miles to perfectly adequate village Co-Op, fish shop and cafes.
Peace and quiet. Beautiful scenery.
The cottage was in a excellent location with wonderful views. The owner of the cottage was very friendly and helpful.
A beautiful cottage, lovingly cared for, in an amazing area with stunning scenery on the doorstep. The owners were very considerate, providing a wide range of guides and information about what the area had to offer. We were very happy with our choice of cottage and holiday destination - we really needed a break from the city and that's what we got.
Meadows Edge was a lovely property tucked away in a great location for walking. The pub, just a 1 min walk down the road was great and extremely welcoming, with the sunday papers and warm fire - you couldn't ask for more. The lunch at the farm was out of this world and a absolute must. Thoroughly recommend to all my friends and family.
The cottage was just simply stunning. The owner gave us a very warm welcome, and I would again like to congratulate you for a great job done.
Enjoyed Meadows Edge. Very peaceful and great views, would go back.
It was an excellent centre for visiting friends and relations in the area, and very nice to come back to in the evening. The owner and her family were very welcoming and helpful.
The isolated location of the property was ideal for a quiet stress-free holiday which was just what we both needed. The scenery surrounding the cottage was second to none.
Spectacular view all around.
Peaceful location with wonderful views from the windows, the cottage was warm and cosy with everything you could need.
The location of Meadow's Edge is lovely - beautiful views from the windows. The cottage was very cosy, perfect for two of us. It was good to be within easy reach of the pub. The owners of the property were very friendly and welcoming and the meat they sell on their farm is wonderful. We would certainly consider returning one day.
Lovely place, fantastically peaceful, just the right spot to rest and recuperate. Friendly owners whose farmhouse kitchen restaurant did an amazing cooked breakfast. Highly recommend a visit.
The location is stunning and the cottage is lovely and cosy- all a couple could ask for. We will be returning to Holwick with our family, and finding out what the bigger cottages are like.

Compact yet ideal as a base for two people. The ideal location to chill out and recharge your batteries. Surrounding scenery is breath taking. A very peaceful location. Would definitely revisit, fantastic holiday!
The best thing about the holiday was the setting. We absolutely loved the North Pennines. We enjoy walking so it was perfect for it. We loved walking along the River Tees, which was just a few minutes away from the cottage. The cottage was small but cosy and we loved going back there after a day out walking.
Perfect spot for walking straight from the door. Pub within walking distance.

Pleasant cottage.
Cottage was very cosy, essential for winter time, and we had our fair share of mist and rain! Walking in the area is superb and several walks can be done straight from the cottage.
The farm kitchen and the Scott family made the holiday special. We will be returning and hope to try one of the larger properties, and then we can bring more of our family. This has to be one of the best holidays we have had. Met some locals at the pub and enjoyed each others company.
Very beautiful setting and convenient to have a pub literally 2 mins away.
