This cottage is in the stunning location of the Newlands Valley. The elevated position of the cottage offers uninterrupted views of glorious mountain scenery including Catbells, Robinson and Blencathra. The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms, offering comfortable and homey accommodation. Located between Braithwaite and Buttermere, the cottage is an ideal base for walkers and cyclists looking to explore this north western corner of the Lake District. There is superb walking straight from the door either on the valley floor or into the surrounding fells. Keswick is a 10-minute drive away, offering a wide selection of pubs, restaurant and shops. The local inn is well worth a visit, located on the other side of the valley and reached by a walk of just over a mile along the valley roads. The cottage is featured in the popular BBC drama, 'The A Word' as the family's home. The cottage entrance leads into the sitting room, furnished with a leather sofa and chairs, flatscreen Freesat TV and DVD player and a wood burner-effect electric fire. There is Wi-Fi internet at the cottage. From the windows there is a fabulous view of the Newlands Valley. The kitchen has recently been fully refurbished. It has a dining table and chairs, built in undercounter fridge and separate freezer, microwave and an electric double oven. There is a dishwasher. Guests have use of the utility room which has a washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing facilities. A door opens onto a small partially enclosed yard and at the rear of property. Open plan stairs lead to the first floor where there are two bedrooms, a double and a twin. The double bedroom has stunning views of the Newlands Valley whilst the twin bedroom looks to the woodland at the rear of the cottage. The shower room has a shower enclosure, WC and wash basin. Outside there is a sitting out area to the front of the cottage with flower tubs and stunning views of Newlands Valley. To the rear is a small yard and a woodland area. The owner's adjoining barn can be used for storage of bikes and outdoor equipment by prior permission. Private parking is available directly opposite the property. A welcome pack is provided. This cottage does not accept pets or children under the age of 4.

The dining area has a wood burner and a large dining table and chairs. Windows look to the front of the cottage and across the Newlands Valley to the beautiful fells. There is a cosy seating area benefiting from the wood burner and a TV. The kitchen is one step up from the living area and is newly refurbished. The kitchen features a halogen hob and electric oven, fridge, microwave and full-size dishwasher. At the end of the hallway is a door leading to a large utility area housing the washer, separate tumble dryer, heated towel rail and further large fridge with large freezer. The Aga is not in use. An external door off the utility room leads to the small backyard. Upstairs there are two king-size bedrooms both of which have walk-in wardrobes and en-suite shower rooms with mains shower, WC and wash basin. The third bedroom is a spacious twin room. There is a separate bathroom on the first floor with a corner electric shower, WC, towel rail and wash basin. Outside there is a small yard to the rear that backs directly onto the fellside and small woodland. The fell behind is Causey Pike. At the front of the cottage there is a sitting out area with stunning uninterrupted views of Newlands Valley. By prior permission the owner's adjoining barn can be used for storage of bikes and outdoor equipment. Private parking is available directly opposite the property. A welcome tea tray is provided.
This is a self-catering apartment in a barn conversion in the Newlands Valley. The property boasts superb views across one the most tranquil and unspoilt areas that the Lake District has to offer. Four people can be accommodated in the ground-floor apartment which has two en-suite bedrooms and an open-plan living area. There is another apartment above, also sleeping four, and they can be let together to accommodate eight. The Newlands Valley is the ideal destination for everyone whether it be to enjoy gentle strolls along the fells or more strenuous walks over Robinson, Catbells and Maiden Moor. The Newlands Adventure Centre offer ghyll scrambling, climbing, kayaking and numerous other outdoor activities. Buttermere, Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite are only a short drives away. The Swinside Inn serving good food and ales is a pleasant 30-minute walk from the apartment. Little Town which is a gentle stroll from the accommodation was the setting for Beatrix Potter's Mrs Tiggy Winkle. The village of Braithwaite and the market town of Keswick with its numerous amenities are only 3 miles away. For a lovely relaxing evening out there is the wonderful Theatre by the Lake in Keswick. Situated all on one level, this is one of two apartments converted from former farm buildings retaining original stone facades and internal beams. The ground-floor apartment has two spacious bedrooms, one double with an en-suite which has a bath, WC and basin, and a further twin bedroom with an en-suite which has a shower enclosure, WC and basin. Both bedrooms have wall mounted TVs in them. The open-plan living area is spacious with a well-equipped kitchen which includes an electric oven with ceramic hob, washing machine, under-counter fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and plenty of storage space. There is a comfortable lounge area with large 42inch widescreen TV. There is also a table and chairs for dining, which seats four. Outside the cottage is a seating area with stunning views across the Newlands Valley fells, ideal for a morning coffee or evening tipple as you watch the sunset. There is also a storage room which is shared with guests of the neighbouring properties. Guests are welcome to store muddy boots and equipment as well as bikes and it is advised that guests bring their own bike locks.
