The large entrance hallway leads you into the ground floor accommodation. Here you'll find the spacious living room, separate dining room and well-equipped kitchen. Also on the ground floor is a useful utility room and handy extra WC. Upstairs on the first floor are the three spacious double bedrooms. The master bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom and there's also a modern family bathroom on the first floor too. Outside, there is a large enclosed garden overlooking Ullswater, the perfect backdrop for meals alfresco - you could quite easily spend your whole holiday sitting out here! If you do fancy venturing further than the garden, walkers will delight at what's on offer around the property and there are a wealth of local footpaths that pass close by the front door. Walk to the lake shore or head to Aira Force, a 10-minute drive away, for picturesque woodland walks alongside this majestic waterfall. From here, you can continue onwards and upwards up Gowbarrow Fell for stunning views over Ullswater. Visit Pooley Bridge, a charming village at the northern end of Ullswater; stock up on souvenirs and local treats from the village shop, enjoy a peaceful walk along the lake shore or hitch a ride on the Ullswater steamer to enjoy the water from a different perspective. Your closest pub is just a 5-minute walk away, perfect for a hearty meal and refreshing drink in a convivial atmosphere after a day out exploring. Take a scenic drive over Kirkstone Pass (recommended in good weather only, as it's the highest pass in the Lake District that's open to motor traffic) and down into bustling Ambleside. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, useful microwave, dishwasher and handy washer/dryer. Gather round the wooden table in the separate dining room, which also has breathtaking views over Ullswater; it's the perfect place for comparing notes on the day's adventures over a hearty home-cooked meal. The location is truly wonderful, surrounded by pretty fells you can climb, and 1 mile from the fantastic glacial lake that is Ullswater – and all an easy 7.5-mile drive from the M6. After ascending three steps to reach the glass front door, you’ll step into an open-plan living space with a comfy sofa, Smart TV and plenty of floor space for tired pets to doze. The decor is contemporary rustic, with plenty of wooden accents and neutral colours like cream and grey. You’ll have a handy desk and chair for if you need to attend to any business during your stay, and the farmhouse-style kitchen has a stylish apron sink. Nestling at the foot of Little Mell Fell, it is the perfect place for a peaceful hideaway. It is also a great base for exploring some of the most beautiful countryside in England. From short lakeside strolls to long distance hikes, there is a fantastic variety of walking right from the door. Water sports enthusiasts are also catered for, with a wealth of opportunities on Ullswater and the nearby Derwentwater, and nature lovers will enjoy the stunning scenery, varied wildlife and quiet ancient woodlands. Head to the local pub, the perfect place to unwind after a day out on the fells. The nearest main town is Penrith, with Pooley Bridge, Keswick, Ambleside and Windermere all in easy reach of the cottage. This cottage is best accessed from the parking area at the rear into the open-plan living area. The kitchen area has dishwasher, electric cooker, microwave, under counter fridge with small freezer compartment, washer/dryer and farmhouse table and chairs. The sitting area has comfortable seating and an open fire (initial supply of logs and coal provided). There is a small flight of stairs to the bathroom which has bath with shower over, WC and wash basin. A further small flight of stairs lead to the two double bedrooms, one of which has a four-poster bed. To the outside is the front shared lawned area shared with two other holiday cottages and there is also a private sheltered veranda with garden bench. To the rear is a large gravelled area with further garden bench, a lockable storage area and a covered ex-byre suitable for storing outdoor gear.

Rustle up delicious meals in the open-plan kitchen and dining area where you ll find everything you need including a range cooker with a gas hob two electric ovens a fridge/freezer a dishwasher and a handy washing machine. Gather around the large dining table and feast together as you make plans for a new day of adventures in Cumbria. After dinner retreat to the living room and enjoy film and games nights with the TV and DVD player; there s also an iPhone/iPod dock. When sleep calls head up the short staircase from the living room where you ll find a cosy twin bedroom a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and garden access. A further six stairs lead up to the top floor with one double bedroom and a bedroom with a beautiful four-poster double bed. This floor also has a shower room with a shower and WC. Outside there s a garden and seating area shared with neighbouring properties where you can relax and soak up the views towards Little Mell Fell you might even be inspired to take the steep ascent. There s a shop and a dog-friendly pub with an open fire within half a mile plus another pub with food and lake views just 2 miles away.
