This delightful 18th century cottage is situated in the Old Town location of Lyme Regis – an enviable position, just a 5 min level walk from the beach and shops.  Full of character, tastefully furnished and decorated in light and airy colours with the added bonus of a beach hut on the seafront promenade too, just yards from the sandy beach, solely for the guests' use.  All your buckets, spades, deck-chairs, inflatables etc can be left in the beach hut for the week – it is also a great refuge when the weather is not quite so kind and a great place to change if you are brave enough to have a dip in the sea! Within a five minute walk, guests can meander down to Lyme Regis bustling sea front and promenade. Often referred to as the ‘Pearl of Dorset’, Lyme Regis is well known for its literary association with Jane Austen as well as its diverse geology which people from across the world flock to in the hunt for fossils. The historic old town retains an olde worlde charm with small streets filled with galleries, boutique shops and famed gastro restaurants and cafés.  Its sheltered south facing beaches are safe for children and water sports enthusiasts alike with great fishing and leisure boat opportunities available from the Cobb harbour.  For those who would like a change of scene and a day away from the beach, the surrounding rolling countryside, which is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, boasts walking and cycling in abundance or perhaps while away a few days exploring pretty East Devon fishing villages such as Beer and Branscombe or head to the market town of Axminster to sample Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage Canteen. Please Note: Because of the Covid-19 crisis the beach hut will not come under the cleaning protocols applied to holiday properties and THC take no responsibility for its condition and use by guests.  We recommend you provide your own sanitiser when using the beach hut.  A discount will apply in its place for those guests who prefer not use the beach hut.  Please contact the booking office.
