The village is 10 miles east of the county town Dorchester or you could visit historic Wareham 8 miles to the west. Here you can walk within the old walls or enjoy lunch beside the river. Those looking for a family family-friendly day out can visit the Sea L life centre in Weymouth or Swannery in Abbotsbury. Corfe Castle is also well worth a visit too and is home to castle ruins cared for by the National Trust. You can often find steam trains running between here and the seaside town of Swanage and all these attractions are within a 20 20-mile radius.
