Sherwood 34 is a single-storey lodge with a king-size bedroom that has a television and an en-suite walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail and WC, plus a twin room and a second shower room. All of it is on one level, and the open-plan living space puts the kitchen, dining area and sitting area in a single room.

It is unusually well wired for a lodge. Alongside the Smart TV and a second television there is a soundbar, built-in Bluetooth speakers and WiFi, so music follows you around the place rather than fighting the kettle. The kitchen is properly equipped too, with a gas oven and grill, a gas hob, a microwave, a fridge freezer, a dishwasher and a washer dryer. Gas central heating runs throughout, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

Furnished decking sits outside, and there is off-road parking for three cars, which is more generous than most and makes arriving separately straightforward. One well-behaved dog is welcome. The pub is 0.1 miles away, near enough that it becomes the default, and the nearest shop is 1.5 miles for anything forgotten on the way into Carnforth.
