The first on the ground floor is a heated conservatory-style space with comfortable seating where you can relax and enjoy a view of the garden. Choose a title from the well-stocked bookcase to browse through during your stay or sit at the bistro table with your morning coffee to watch the visiting birds. There is also a DVD player and a digital radio in this room for your entertainment. French doors open to the garden for indoor/outdoor living in the summer months. A second set of French doors leads into the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner with exposed beams and an attractive stone floor where you can sit together at mealtimes. Cross the causeway to Holy Island and spend a day in historic Berwick-upon-Tweed. Visit Alnwick Castle and Gardens (9 miles) and the market town s independent shops galleries playhouse theatre and famous second-hand bookshop and Cragside House and Gardens in friendly Rothbury. There is a contemporary café/shop (2.2 miles) which is a good venue for lunch and a friendly pub/restaurant in Ellingham (3.1 miles) where you can enjoy dinner.
