About Sandpiper Lodge
Tucked peacefully away in the hamlet of Great Walsingham is this charming end terrace barn conversion which forms part of an historic local mill development. Just four miles inland from the coast at Wells-next-the-Sea, Sandpiper Lodge offers holidaymakers a fantastic base for exploring both rural and coastal North Norfolk.Constructed of brick with a pantile roof, Sandpiper Lodge was converted in 2003, and then tastefully updated in 2022 creating comfortable and cosy accommodation. Using a relaxing colour palette throughout, the rooms flow seamlessly from one to another. The ground floor is generously proportioned and the overall feel is one of open plan living; the sitting room is a lovely space to retire to at the end of a busy day, has windows overlooking the garden, a wood burning stove to light for when the nights draw in and double glazed doors that open to the adjoining dining room. This, in turn, leads through to a spacious, well-equipped fitted country-style kitchen. Upstairs on the first floor are three bedrooms (one with a king-size and two with full-size single beds) all sharing the use of a smart, fully tiled bathroom with both bath and shower options. Outside the cottage has an enclosed west facing cottage garden to the front - just the spot for sharing a bottle of Norfolk wine while you watch the sun go down on another day.
Sandpiper Lodge is a super choice for couples or a small family looking for a quiet bolthole at any time of the year. Great Walsingham, much smaller than its neighbour, Little Walsingham, is a pretty village and has a popular cafe selling award-winning pies and a tempting art gallery to browse just across the village road.. An easy twenty minute walk will take you to the larger village, which has a farm shop selling a fine selection of delicious local produce as well as two good pubs, several cafes and a general store.
