Rowan House is an excellent self catering holiday home in Hunstanton. Situated in a really peaceful residential area overlooking a green, planted with trees, you can even see the sea from the bedrooms, you are that close. The house is a comfortable family home sleeping 5, although there is a further single bed in the master bedroom for an extra child if needed. The accommodation is comfortable and welcoming. The sitting room has two sofas and a chair with the benefit of a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. To one end is a dining table and chairs. The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven and hob, washing machine fridge and freezer. Off the kitchen is a handy conservatory, great for drying off dogs or just sitting in the sun looking over the pretty enclosed gardens. Dogs are welcome at Rowan House and the garden is secure. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, the master has a double bed and an ensuite shower room with WC and basin. There is a further single bed in this room should you need an extra one. To the front you have views over the pretty green and the sea in the distance. perfect for sunset watching. The second bedroom has twin beds and the third a single bed, making this house perfect for families. Outside you have parking for two cars, and a fully enclosed pretty and private garden. The beach at Old Hunstanton is about a 15 minute walk or a very short drive to the cliff top carpark. The town centre is again about a 15 minute walk along the cliff top. Hunstanton is famous for being the only eastern seaside resort that actually faces west, so gets the most amazing sunsets right over the sea. The resort was originally founded in Victorian times by Henry Styleman Le Strange, who’s family still reside locally. The beautiful Victorian and Edwardian villas, many built from carrstone or ‘honeystone’ as it’s known locally, found in the historic quarter of the town reflect this former glory. A wander around this part of the town is something many visitors miss, so it is worth a visit to to the local Heritage Centre to find out a bit more. Of course many people flock to Hunstanton for the beaches, which are sandy and backed with dunes and beach huts. To the south end of the beach you will find traditional seaside treats like a children’s fun fair, slot machines and some glorious fish and chips! Head to Reg’s for fish and chips with a view over the Wash from their balcony, front row seats for the sunsets. Hunstanton is the perfect place for a weekend break or a family holiday, with plenty to do for everyone.
