In a wonderful location with steam trains passing by, and it was a short drive to the coast. It was everything you needed for a relaxing holiday.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Ticket Office, it was an unusual place to stay in, really comfortable and the small space had been put to the best use. Ruswarp was for us, an ideal place to stay for exploring the area. Would recommend The Ticket Office as a good place to stay for something a bit different.

Our third visit to this cottage and it was just as warm, cosy and comfortable. We really enjoyed the originality of staying in the ticket office of a Victorian railway station. It has been beautifully converted. The front door onto the platform was great to run out and wave to the trains!

Second time I have stayed there. Small but perfectly formed. Like the 'quirkiness' of the Old Ticket Office. Very convenient for public transport (I did not have a car with me), and only 25 mins walk into Whitby.

We had such a magical holiday at The Ticket Office. A superb, enchanting little hideaway, which we absolutely adored. The location was perfect with a pub across the road, and a lovely little walk into Whitby's centre just across the platform, moments from the front door, along with the river flowing very close by, and a fantastic local butchers' and bakery within easy reach. We thought it to be an adorable, unique holiday property, something a little bit different, and quite special in its own homely, characterful way. We cannot thank the owners enough, as they had truly thought of everything to make our stay the relaxed getaway we were seeking! Just the Ticket (Office)!

Good location and easy access to tourist areas - Yorkshire Moors and East Coast seaside resorts. Local pub very near serves food. We enjoyed our stay in the Ticket House. We are returning customers and will book with Sykes again, they are very efficient. Thank you.

The Ticket Office's location was very convenient as we arrived by train. We loved the decor and the cosy feel of the cottage. We stayed for our second wedding anniversary and found it a very romantic bolthole and a joy to come home to after some lovely days exploring the local area. We are holidaying without a car and found the local area perfectly accessible by public transport and on foot.

The location was fantastic, only a short walk/drive/train ride to Whitby. The cottage was very comfortable and warm. We loved the character of it. The village was very pretty and there's a good pub across the road. Only five miles to Robin Hood's Bay - so beautiful!

The unusual situation of the property and the sympathetic décor is in keeping with the age and type of the property. The thoughtfulness of providing a tray with tea, coffee, biscuits and milk in the fridge!

The whole holiday was very relaxing which was helped by the cottage being such a nice place to stay. We have to say this is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. It was made all the better by having steam trains pass by a few times a day.

Ideally situated for travel to all the villages (by train) and ease of access to Whitby and surrounding seaside. Steam trains and local trains from literally outside the front door. Really lovely location and a good pub with excellent food 40yards away.

The location & quaintness of this property makes it unique. Walking to Whitby only took 1/2 an hour & local buses & trains were very convenient also. There is much to do in this area whatever the weather. Scenery lovely.

Our first visit to the area and we loved both the coast and the moors. We particularly enjoyed our visits to Whitby and the Goth week was an entertaining bonus. We also went from Grosmont to Pickering and back on the steam train which was a treat. Loved Robin hood's Bay and enjoyed walks and cream teas on the Moors. Of course we also loved the quirky Ticket Office.

Ruswarp is a very pretty village, and the steam trains passing by the front door of the accommodation are a novel bonus. The trains really caused minimal disturbance - less than the road!

Great accommodation, it felt comfy, not like a 'thrown together' holiday let. We could do walks from the house. Very exciting with the trains stopping, and the steam train passing through and tooting.

We felt relaxed and the surrounding area was beautiful and we felt very much at home. The cottage was cosy and quirky in the nicest possible way and the location was excellent especially being on a station platform and it was a novelty having a steam train stop on our doorstep.
