This was our second visit to this property and it still remains one of our favourites. The owner was there for the 2 weeks and was most helpful and friendly. We shall no doubt be back again.

Another wonderful stay at Waterloo Cottage; very relaxing. It is an easy 30 minute walk into Whitby via the Esk Valley track along the railway with steam trains passing. There is a lovely walk to Robin Hoods Bay along the Cinder track also.

We liked the beautiful location beside the river. The cottage had excellent furnishings, soft settees and a nice bed. There was plenty of equipment in the kitchen. The property was nice and warm on arrival and had a lovely conservatory where you could sit and watch the river.

It was our second visit and we liked it that much we are going back for Christmas. The new shower room was absolutely beautiful and much easier for anyone who may have difficulty using a bath.

This is the second time we have visited Waterloo Cottage Annexe and it did not disappoint. It still has the home from home feel and has all the things you would need for a weeks stay. My husband did a spot of fishing outside the cottage and caught several fish (trout ).

Beautiful cottage in an idyllic spot. The location is great for visiting Whitby and the North Yorks Moors. We loved watching the birds and seals on the river and the steam trains that passed by on the North Yorks Moors Railway Line. The cottage was so comfortable and cosy. A perfect autumn relaxing break.

The property is set at the side of a river, where there was plenty of wildlife to watch and also boating activity. Had a nice garden to sit in for us and the dogs.

WOW! It was so lovely at Waterloo Cottage, very comfy, especially the bed! The garden was a pleasure to sit in and walk round, but most of all the location was just brilliant, we just loved it and so did our collie. We were lucky with the weather and to sit there in the morning with our coffee or in the evening with a glass wine was so relaxing. There were two herons on the bank opposite, lots of ducks with their young and a beautiful swan who came to see us each day.

The cottage is beautiful and relaxing, the garden perfect. The walk into Whitby is excellent even my 93 year old mother managed the walk with ease. Nearby Foss Falls is beautiful and the cafe there is wonderful. Rowing on the river is a real treat. The nearby butchers is excellent, we didn't even cook a breakfast, we just bought sandwiches from there every morning. The Bridge Inn just a few minutes walk away is lovely, everyone is friendly and they serve excel.lent food. Will definitely return again.

It was our second visit to this lovely cottage in Ruswarp. Such a lovely place to stay by the river. The cottage itself has everything you need, and we hope to have our next annual stay there next year.

This was our second visit, we stayed at Waterloo cottage annexe last year. The cottage is in a superb location on the side of the river Exe. The Cottage is very comfortable, and within easy walking distance of Whitby.

Lovely village location. Lovely cottage, so very peaceful and the view of the river both from the cottage and the garden was absolutely beautiful. Fantastic village butcher. Village pub, The Bridge Inn, does lovely food, they know how to look after the beer and the atmosphere is lovely and friendly. Nice location to tour around from too. We have booked again for 2014.

The cottage was excellent. The position by the river was fascinating with lots to look at all the time. It was very well placed for Whitby with an interesting walk from the cottage to the harbour area. The house was very comfortable and contained what we needed. We had a lovely, peaceful break.

Both the cottage and the garden were very good standard. The location next to the river was perfect and because the weather was so hot we did spend quite a lot of time in the garden, relaxing. The village location made it easy to travel to the local areas as well as Whitby, which was also in walking distance. We had a very enjoyable holiday.

The location, alongside the river was oh so restful. It was wonderful to open the curtains on a morning and watch the ducks, geese, swans etc. Morning coffee (or scrabble) in the conservatory was a delight. We have rebooked for a fortnight in autumn!

The setting next to the river was a excellent, overall the entire holiday was lovely which the cottage itself played a big part on such a lovely stay. We will hopefully be returning for another weeks holiday.

Another excellent stay at Waterloo Cottage Annexe. Great walks into Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay. Very comfortable, homely cottage. It was really nice to watch seals swimming in front of our window.

The quiet location by the river and it wasn't too far to travel to from home. The cottage was perfect size for me and my husband and the fact that we could take the dog for some lovely walks was a benefit. It was 5 minutes by car to centre of Whitby although it is in walking distance. The owner had put some Christmas decorations up as well which was a nice touch.

The cottage was warm, cosy and perfect for two. The location was just right to access Whitby and great that we could take our dog with an enclosed garden. It was lovely to be so close to the river Esk and with lovely walks on the doorstep.

The view of the river from the lounge window was fantastic, always something new to see, sit up in bed and watch the river, seals, ducks and herons! The furnishings and equipment were of a really good standard, much better than we have had in other rental properties.

The location of the cottage was good for walks and commuting. Nice little quiet village. Tranquil view across river Esk, seen lots of wild life. The cottage felt like home from home. We did not want to come home. Will be back again in the future. Will recommend to friends and family.

Fantastic accommodation in a picturesque location. Great for those who love wildlife in a quiet area away from the crowds yet still within reach of areas of interest. Pleased we could take our dog too who enjoyed the private garden and looking out onto the river. Would highly recommend.

We enjoyed excellent walks into Whitby, and really enjoyed our visit to Runswick Bay and Sandsend. The local pub also allows dogs in the bar.

The cottage had a lovely cosy feel about it with lots of lovely touches like photos of how the cottage looked through the years and the owner had made a little album of things to do and see in the area. The decor was well thought out and we loved it.
