With ten bedrooms to choose from, this is the perfect base for a group get-together in the heart of Northumberland National Park. Finished to an exceptionally high standard, there is a masterful blend of lovingly preserved original features, period-appropriate furniture and sleek modern finishes on display here. Entering the East Wing, kick off muddy boots in the spacious hallway, set the children up in the TV/games room, and then head into the spacious lounge that is the social hub of the house. This large space is bright and welcoming with beautiful, stone feature walls and is furnished with several comfortable leather sofas and a range of coffee tables so you can sit with a drink and catch up with one another or relax with a book. There is a bar area at the far end of the lounge with its own fridge to chill your drinks. Sit on a bar stool while the family bartender pours your favourite tipple. French doors lead out to a balcony with garden furniture and lovely views of the valley, and there's a delightful picnic bench set within the lawned garden - perfect for alfresco dining. The formal dining room is fit for a banquet or alternatively share a meal in the well-equipped kitchen/diner with its warming wood burner set in an inglenook fireplace for cosy evenings gathered around the table. There are five bedrooms located on the ground floor in this area of the house and two further bedrooms upstairs, which have access to a large balcony offering superb views of the valley and surrounding countryside by day and make for the perfect spot for stargazing by night. The remaining four bedrooms are in the West Wing, accessed via the courtyard. As you might expect from a property of this calibre, all the bedrooms are furnished and finished to the highest standard, with comfortable beds promising a good night's sleep for all. Immersed in the natural beauty of Northumberland National Park, a myriad of walking and cycling trails begin from the doorstep. This is an internationally recognised Dark Sky Park territory where you can see countless stars at night thanks to the area’s lack of light pollution. Keen amateur astronomers should book into Kilder Observatory, a public astronomical observatory hosting regular stargazing evenings. Greenhaugh (3.5 miles) has a pub/restaurant, and Bellingham (7 miles) has shops, pubs, restaurants, and the famed Hareshaw Linn walk. Further afield, visit Kielder Forest and Water Park (20 miles) for water sports, cycling and walking trails amongst a landscape of woodland and lakes.
