Whitford (Welsh: Chwitffordd) is a quiet rural village in north-east Flintshire, just inland of the Dee estuary in north-east Wales. It sits a short drive west of Holywell and is the centre of a wider community that takes in the small villages of Carmel, Lloc, Gorsedd and Pantasaph.
Whitford itself is a one-pub kind of place rather than a sightseeing town, and that's the appeal: country lanes, working farmland and a network of footpaths leading out across the surrounding hills. The coast, the Clwydian Range and the bigger market towns of Holywell and Mold are all within easy reach of a base in the village.
The Whitford community has a couple of country pubs scattered across its outlying villages, both an easy drive from the centre.
The Druid Inn at Gorsedd is the closest traditional country pub, set in one of the small villages within the wider Whitford community. Misty Waters Bar & Grill on Dyserth Road at Lloc is the more food-led option, useful for an evening meal without driving as far as Holywell.
