24 Waters Edge is a second floor apartment at Banff, laid out so the sitting area, kitchen and dining area share one open room with a breakfast bar between them. Two bedrooms sit off it, a double and a twin, with a shower room holding a walk-in shower.

Gas central heating keeps it warm, and fuel and power are in the rent along with bed linen and towels. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. There is a TV with Freeview and BT Sport, WiFi, and a selection of books, games and DVDs left in the flat, which quietly tells you what a Scottish coastal holiday sometimes involves when the wind gets up.

The beach is five minutes on foot, and the shop and pub are the same short walk, so the car can stay where it is for most of the week. Off road parking comes with the apartment, and there is ample parking adjacent for anyone arriving in a second car. Being on the second floor keeps the rooms light and the noise low. It works for a couple, for friends travelling together, or for a family who want the sea within a few minutes of the door.
