Explore the huge selection of local walking and bike trails with breathtaking views. Othe places of interest include Grey Mare s Tail Nature Reserve one of the UK s highest waterfalls plunging 60 metres and leading to Loch Skeen St Mary s Loch and the Devil s Beef Tub all of which are within 17 miles. Drive down the private road and through the glorious grounds of the country mansion and you will find the bespoke handcrafted double shepherd s hut nestling in between the trees just in front of Evan Water. The shepherd s hut is named after the first owner of the Mansion - Thomas George Bishop of Beattock. Climb the three steps up and make your way into the smart and stylish accommodation. There is an open-plan lounge/kitchen area where you can enjoy cooking in the well-equipped kitchen. When supper is ready dine at the spacious glass-topped table. Relax in the lounge where you can enjoy a movie on the TV or sit back with a local dram or locally crafted beer. There are two bedrooms to choose from; a double and a twin which has amazing views of the pond and Evan Water. Both bedrooms share a bright shower room. Outside there is a slabbed patio area that has a roomy picnic bench and patio furniture.
