The immediate area offers a wealth of outdoor activities including fishing, walking, cycling and even skiing with the Pentland hills (7 miles) and Hillend ski slope (17 miles) within easy reach. Mountain bikers can explore the nearby Glentress Forest (15 miles), one of the foremost mountain biking venues in the country. Enjoy a trip to Neidpath Castle (10 miles), Kailzie (13.5 miles) and Dawyck Botanic Gardens or pamper yourself at Stobo Castle health spa (both 12 miles).
