The property lies within the Pembrokeshire National Park renowned for its beautiful beaches and coves, and is midway between the villages of Nevern and Felindre-Farchog and only 4 miles from Newport. Both pretty villages have popular riverside pubs which serve meals. Bayvil is situated in a beautiful rural setting with views across the Preseli hills, sharing private lane access with the pretty unused 18th C Bayvil Church with the National Park path running past the property. Nevern is renowned for its historical interest, its ancient Church with Bleeding Yew tree, Celtic Cross and Pilgrim's Way and Norman motte and bailey castle. Two miles away is the neolithic monument of Pentre Ifan and access to the Gwaun Valley, which leads onto the Preseli Mountains known as the source of stone for Stonehenge. Close to Felindre is the Nature Reserve of ancient oaks of Pengelli Forest and Ty Canol Woods. Nearby is Castle Henllys, site of Iron Age Fort and tourist attraction popular with young families. The nearest small market town of Newport (4 miles) offers highly reviewed, cafes, restaurants, pubs, art galleries and shops as well as Parrog Beach with its Boat Club and facilities. There is plenty to do in this beautiful part of Pembrokeshire from lazy summer beach days to water sports, boat excursions to Caldey or Ramsey Island, walking, birdwatching, horse riding or golf. The National Park footpath crosses the drive making Bayvil the perfect location for Autumn and Winter walking holidays. This beautiful stone barn has been renovated to create an idyllic holiday retreat in a tranquil location near Newport in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Upper Barn is one of two cottages at Penpedwast, a peaceful setting in an area entwined by footpaths giving wonderful walks, with links to Pengelli Forest. Nearby attractions include the Pentre Ifan burial chamber, the most famous of all Neolithic structures which has stood there for more than 4000 years; Castell Henllys, within walking distance of Penpedwast, a reconstructed Iron Age hillfort, complete with roundhouses; and the Preseli Hills, thought to be the source of the Stonehenge bluestones. Nearby are the villages of Nevern, popular for its riverside location and Norman Church, Felindre Farchog and Newport, set on the estuary where the river Nevern meets the sea. It has a stunning, long stretch of sand, and a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants. In the opposite direction lies the bustling market town of Cardigan. As well as walking the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and the moorland trails of the Preseli Hills, activities nearby include horse riding, golf, tennis, sea and freshwater fishing, kayaking and cycling.
