The Swallows’ Nest is a tastefully converted barn on a smallholding, two miles from the Atlantic Ocean. The cottage’s central location on the Dale peninsula, whilst being in the heart of the countryside, provides convenient access to beautiful beaches, offshore islands and Pembrokeshire National Park’s beautiful 186-mile coastal path. Broad Haven (2 miles) is a popular beach for bathing, rock pooling, surfing, and recreation, and it has a range of places to eat, a convenient mini market, and other services. Little Haven (2.4 miles) is a picturesque little cove with pubs, restaurants, a café, gift shop and a lot of charm. It is a popular spot for mackerel fishing, and at low tide, it is possible to walk along the beach to Broad Haven. Swallows’ Nest is 4.5 miles from the historic market town of Haverfordwest, which now hosts a farmers’ market, supermarkets, shopping centres, a large leisure centre, a library and a golf club. It is 9 miles from the Cleddau bridge, which takes you to South Pembrokeshire, with more beaches, castles and attractions and only 9 miles to the embarkation point for Skomer, Skokolm and Grassholm Islands. These islands are humming with wildlife depending on the time of the year. It is possible to land on Skomer six days a week, weather and season permitting. On the mainland at Marloes, baby seals may be seen in the autumn - but if you want just to relax and enjoy the cottage, you have very comfortable accommodation, outside areas to enjoy, and our small herd of alpacas to gaze at. All the accommodation is on the ground floor so may suit guests with restricted mobility Bedroom 1: king size bed, chest of drawers, dressing table, wardrobe, bedside cabinets Bathroom: bath, toilet and hand basin Bedroom 2: double bed, chest of drawers, hanging rail, full length mirror, bedside cabinets En suite: shower, toilet, hand basin Open plan area with... Sitting area: two 2-seater sofas, log burner, chair, TV, DVD player, CD player with radio, games, DVDs, fictional books, local history books and maps Kitchen area: dishwasher, washing machine/tumble dryer, electric hob, cooker, microwave Dining area: dresser, table and chairs for 4 OUTSIDE The southwest-facing enclosed and gated area is to the front of the cottage, with a terrace, patio furniture, parasol, and gas BBQ available. Access to a garage for bikes, boards, etc. A fenced lawn area is also available for recreation. A small herd of alpacas on the smallholding of interest for children. Parking for 2 cars.
